FOR BY GRACE

by Charles Robey
(Trussville AL, USA)

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, that no one should boast".(Ephesians2:8-9) To that I shout "Amen"

The old cliche states, "There's no free lunch". This may stand true, in the secular world. However, in God's perfect world, His gift of Salvation is free and available to " whosoever may come". For you see, you can never earn your way nor be good enough, to enter into an eternal relationship with the living God, on your own merit. You must just simply excise your faith and except God's free Grace to change your life.

For by Grace
The world was spoke in place.
For By Grace
The stars were hung in space.
For by Grace
From the dust of the land.
For By Grace
Gods own image He did span.
For by Grace
The Garden was mans fall.
For By Grace
Sin punished one and all.
For by Grace
Men of old in faith believed.
For By Grace
Sins pardon was received.
For by Grace
By faith now all may know.
For By Grace
Freedom from sin to bestow.
For By Grace

Growing up as a Salvation Army officer's (ministers) kid, was quite an experience. Yes, that makes me the proverbial "Preachers Kid" or "PK" for short. Well, you might think being exposed to the Christian way of life, one would have an automatic ticket into God's kingdom. Not so, for, we all must come in by the way of the cross.

I still believe in that "Old Time Religion". I can't help but ponder those old "brush-arbor" revival meetings where the "Amen's" and the " Hallelujahs " echoed, as the spirit lead. Since retiring from my secular profession, I pray that God will use this compilation of poems to give encouragement and strength to the Christians as well as draw the sinner into a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
