Gates of Jerusalem

Nehemiah 3:1-32

1. Sheep gate (v.1)
Shed blood of Jesus starts it off.
2. Fish gate (v.3)
You shall be fishers of men; shirkers are mentioned.
3. Old gate (v.6)
Abiding. Jer.6:16
4. Valley gate (v.13)
Humility...Blessed are the meek but not "mousey."
5. Dung gate (v.14)
Cleansing...Jesus came to cleanse this filthy world.
6. Fountain gate (v.15)
Filling of the Spirit, but no filling till cleansed.
7. Water gate (v.26)
Word of God...only gate that needed no repair...#7-perfection!
8. Horse gate (v.28)
Warfare. Eph.6
9. East gate (v.29)
Coming of Jesus. Ezek.44:1-3
10. Registry or Inspection Gate (v.31)
Miphkad - judgment
Concl: (v.32) Sheep gate again...Jesus is the Alpha and Omega.
