God Will Protect Us

Psalms 46:1:"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

The topic I want to speak from is, “God Will Protect Us!”
No matter what is going on that may cause us trouble, if the Devil tries to harm us, God’ll protect us. When trouble arises, God will be there to protect us. No matter what the Devil may try and do to you, if you’re in His will, God’ll intervene. The Bible says that “God who protected our forefathers when the evil one sought to destroy them, will also protect us too.”

I want to talk about the several instances where God protected the people in the Bible. In Exodus 12, when the Israelites were about to cross the Red Sea, Pharaoh’s soldiers followed them there and got ready to attack them and round them up and take them back to Egypt. Now notice this: the faithless people forgot about God’s protection.

Some people in the church, when trouble rises against them they lose faith and forget about God’s protection. When trouble rises against you, don’t lose faith, just call on the name of Jesus, and He’ll bring you out. The faithless people forgot about God’s protection and started complaining about how Moses led them to the wilderness to die.

Moses had to remind them God would protect them no matter what. He said, “Did not God show you his signs and wonders when you were in Egypt? The same God who delivered you from your slavery in Egypt is the same God who’ll deliver you from the Pharaoh of Egypt.” Then he said, “After this day, you will see Pharaoh’s chariots no more!”

God opened up the Red Sea so they could cross over to the other side. Pharaoh’s soldiers then tried to follow ‘em again, but God said, “No, no, no, no, no, no!” Then when all the army was on the dry path in the middle of the sea, God closed the Red Sea down on top of them and protected the Israelites from the Pharaoh.

In Judges chapter 7 and 8, God told Gideon and his 300 men to go to the enemy’s camp and break the clay jars they had and wave the oil lamps around. The men said to themselves “What if the Midianites realize that it is us and they turn and attack us?” Gideon said, “God told Joshua that instead of attacking the city of Jericho by force, to march around the city walls for seven days and the 7th day, God would destroy the city walls.

No one expected it to work, but they obeyed God, and when it happened, God gave the city of Jericho to them. The same God who did that for Joshua and your forefathers, will do the same for us!” The next thing you know, God confused the Midianites and they ran away from the land of Israel, leaving all their riches and treasures behind.

Gideon took those treasures and took them back to the mainland, and said “We obeyed God, and He protected us from the Midianites because we did his will.” When you obey God, God will protect from all hurt, harm, and danger. God confused the Midianites so they wouldn't attack the Israelite soldiers under Gideon’s command. Hallelujah.

In 1 Samuel 17, God sent the little boy David to defeat Goliath. No one in Israel knew David was called by God to defeat their enemies, so they begged him and said “Please don’t fight Goliath. He’ll kill you!” But David said, “Nothing will happen to me because I got God on my side protecting me!” David took that slingshot and hurled the stone at Goliath, and before you knew it, Goliath was down for the count.

In 1 Samuel 19, 20, and 21, God protected David from Saul many times before Saul was killed. In 2 Kings 18 and 19, God protected King Hezekiah when Sennacherib was gettin’ ready to attack the city of Jerusalem. Hezekiah sent his messenger to Sennacherib to tell him this: “Our God who protected our forefathers from certain death will protect us from you and your soldiers!”

Later on that night, the angel of the Lord came down from Heaven and killed Sennacherib’s men. Sennacherib was able to escape, but when he got home, his sons jumped on him and killed him themselves. Then Hezekiah said, “Sennacherib, WHO TOLD YOU that our GOD wouldn't protect us!?” Hallelujah on high! In the New Testament, God protected Paul during persecution of the Christians in Rome.

On several occasions, God intervened on the behalf of the Apostles in the Bible. Even if God doesn’t do any big mighty miracle on your behalf, just be thankful and know that GOD WILL ALWAYS PROTECT YOU IN THE MIDST OF YOUR TROUBLE & HE’LL ALWAYS BE THERE TO DELIVER YOU! I know I’m cutting this message kinda short, but GOD WILL protect you!

All the way down through the Bible, God protected his saints, and those He wanted to be saved, He not only protected them but brought them to the light! Hallelujah! All the way down through the Bible from the beginning of the Old Testament to the ending of the OT, God promised he would send a savior on our behalf to intervene for us in the midst of our turmoil!!!

Genesis called him the seed of the woman, Exodus called him the Great Deliverer, Leviticus called him our High Priest, Numbers called him a pillar of cloud by day, and a fire by night, Deuteronomy called him a Law-Giver, Joshua said He’s the captain of my salvation, Ruth said He’s my kinsman, Judges called him a righteous judge, Samuel called him a righteous Prophet, Chronicles said He’s a prayer-answering God, and Isaiah said He would be the Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace, Everlasting father, and Mighty God, and to end it all, Malachi called him the Second Elijah who would come in the last days to redeem us back to God!

Finally, in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John; Jesus said: “I WILL BE WITH YOU EVEN TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH!” HALLELUJAH! JESUS IS WITH US RIGHT NOW! HE’LL PROTECT US WHEN THE STORMS OF LIFE ARE RAGING! JESUS WORKS ON OUR BEHALF! HE’S OUR ULTIMATE PROTECTOR! JESUS CAN AND WILL PROTECT YOU FROM ALL HURT, HARM, AND DANGER! HALLELUJAH!
