How To Get Out Of A Rut

Galatians 6:1-10
Introduction: Someone said a rut is a grave with both ends knocked out of it. There is a sign in Alaska which says "choose your rut carefully for you will be in it for the next 600 miles." We all get into spiritual and emotional ruts and want someone to help bear our burdens and share their blessings with us.
In the text before us God says that the way to get out of the rut is for us to bear burdens and share blessings.
1. Bearing Burdens (6:1-5)
- Bearing the burdens of others (6:1-2)
- Bearing our own burdens (6:3-5)
2. Sharing Blessings (6:6-10)
- Sharing with those who have taught us (6:6)
- Sowing spiritual seed (6:7-9)
- Serving all people, especially believers (6:10)
Conclusion: The Spiritual life is full of paradoxes and enigmas. We are saved to serve but often we want to be served. When you reap a harvest from your garden there is only one joy surpassing that of enjoying the fruit of your labors; it is when you can share it with someone else.
If someone has taught the Word of God to you then communicate good things to them while you still have the opportunity.
