I Am Blessed

by Colan Hiatt
(NC)

I am often awake before daylight
In the quietness, I lie and meditate
There my priorities, I can debate
I am blessed !

With a grateful heart, I realize
He has kept me through the night
As it fades away, I see daylight
I am blessed !

Sometimes the task confronting me
Seem to be more than I can bear
I'm thankful, I have Someone to care
I am blessed !

He knows about each little bird
How much more He cares for me
On the Cross, He died to set me free
I am blessed !

Material things, - - more than a few
Food to eat, and clothes to wear
I have enough and some to spare
I am blessed !

But above all this, He has given
His Word for me to read
On this alone, my soul can feed
I am blessed !
