Portrait of a Faithful Father

by Dennis Michelson
(Painesville, Ohio)

Acts 11:23-24

Note: This message was given originally at the funeral of a godly father who suddenly slipped into eternity. Remember, God does not prepare sermons - He prepares men!

1. He was a saved man (11:23)

- the grace of God.

2. He was a happy man (11:23)

- glad; joyful.

3. He was an encouraging man (11:23)

- exhort.

4. He was a purposeful man (11:23)

- will of God.

5. He was a good man (11:24)

- no negatives.

6. He was a spiritual man (11:24)

- full of the Spirit.

7. He was a faithful man (11:24)

- set the standard.

8. He was a fruitful man (11:24)

- much people added to the Lord.

Concl.: Men - if you pass into eternity today - how many of these can be said of you?
