Scars

by Joey Wilson

June, 2010

We ALL have scars -
some from a knife,
from gunshot wounds,
others from life.

The deepest scars –
they can not heal
‘til I confess
until I kneel.

Before the Lord of love
with forgiveness sweet
as I bow down
at His dear feet.

He will touch my wounds,
grant my release
to live set free
in His joy and peace.

My scars are seen
not to bring me shame
they remind me now
to exalt His name.

I exalt Your name (Jesus)
I exalt Your name
I praise Your name (Jesus)
I am not the same.
