THAT ELECTION BLUES

"He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning." (Daniel 2:21)

Georgie Sorgie come give out the pie
Your failing to pay has made us cry
We protesters came to give our say
Those uniformed badges ran us away
Now we just wait to for another day
When the election fails to go our way

Our recent state special election could not have come at a better time. For its Christmas time, and we all could stand a little extra Christmas spending money. I'll just join the protest. I know we will have one somewhere. There always is, when an intolerant rather populist candidate loses an election, and the election doesn't go the way of the contemplating assembly.

This protest payoff money surely will come in handy. I sincerely hope this protest pays better than the last one. You see "Mr. Georgie Sorgie" failed to give us our per diem for our meals and travel, last time around. And he even failed to pay for our protest signs. I just knew mine would make the TV news.

Oh well, let me put on my newly starched black hooded jacket and paint up my face. This time around, I must not forget my new designer sneakers, for there will be a lot of walking around, especially if the local news crews make the scene.

So I'll see you at the street corner of "Socialite Ave & Liberal Lane." Don't be late.

What, no protest this time around? How dare this losing candidate quote the Bible, and cut me out of my free protest cash, especially when I need the Christmas spending money? And how can this loser wish all a "Merry Christmas".

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."(Col 3:17)

Oh well, next time around it may be better. Maybe my well-deserved free subsidized support will hold me over. As my crowd always says, "Happy Holidays" to all, instead of the real "Merry Christmas" greeting.

Author's Postscript

I trust you have enjoyed this little blog of fictional jesting entertainment. Can you relate to its ethical morals? Now, I will present a parallel from the secular to the spiritual in nature.

Politics have surely changed in recent years. Seems as if anyone can now garner a following, be the motive truth or falsehoods. This bogus show of force is not really new, however. One need only to reference the Bible.

One need only look back on that unruly mob that forced Pilot to wash his hands of the entire unholy mess. (Matthew 27:24) This caused the crucifixion of our Lord. We realize, of course, there can be no comparison between the historic death of Jesus and today's current unruly mobs. We know that the death of Jesus was providential, planned and prophetic from the very beginning of Creation (Genesis 3:15), for the redemption of mankind's inherited sin. (Genesis 3:1-7) Whereas today's unruly events are secular and material in nature, and in no way understood to be spiritually related even though we who are spiritually-minded know it to be a struggle between good and evil.

So just maybe this blog has driven home a point. Regardless of one's spiritual composition, be they believer or non-believer, it is God's sovereign will that we all adhere to the rule of law.

The governmental authorities are established by God (Romans 13:1), instituted by Him (Romans 13:2), God's servants (Romans 13:4,6), and agent of wrath (Romans 13:4). Therefore, we believers are to submit to authority (Romans 13:1,5), pay our taxes (Romans 13:6) and give the authorities just respect. (Romans 13:7)

So let's do it. Amen!
