THERE'S ALWAYS ROOM AT THE TABLE
by Charles Robey

“Come and dine,” the Master calleth,
Come home My child to rest,from evils stand be blessed
There's always room at the table
In a far country to roam, Away from family and home
There's always room at the table
Too long an endless dreamer, In sins world a schemer
There's always room at the table
A life given to the dreary, A journey only for the weary
There's always room at the table
The feast is made able, Come child and sit at My table
There's always room at the table
The spread is made for asking, The banquet ready for basking.
There's always room at the table
My invitation is waiting the grateful, My Grace is freely faithful
There's always room at the table
Redemptions plan is complete for all, Who by faith answer the call
There's always room at the table
Loves deed was eternally done, The cross still has room for one
There's always room at the table
Harken, is that a knock I hear, Come in My child and draw near
There's always room at the table
I can remember growing up when the evening meal was a major production around our house. The table would always be crammed full of homemade vegetables, meat and desert. Not to mention those big Baptist Biscuits. We were always pleased to have company come by. And you know what, there was always room to pull up an extra chair. Yes, always room at the table.
Isn't that like our Heavenly Father. He never turns anyone away from the acceptance of His free Grace, by our faith through the shed blood of Christ at Calvary.
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me."(Rev 3:20)
Jesus has a table spread
Where the saints of God are fed,
He invites His chosen people, "Come and dine";
With His manna He doth feed
And supplies our every need:
Oh, "tis sweet to sup with Jesus all the time!"
"Come and dine," the Master calleth, "Come and dine";
You may feast at Jesus' table all the time;
He Who fed the multitude, turned the water into wine,
To the hungry calleth now, "Come and dine."
Come on now, let's sing that Old Gospel tune.
