Trying to Live

by James Ralston
(Gainesville, FL, United Sates)

Trying to live this life with all the riches I can hold.
Trying to live this life on my own understanding.
Wishing that an average man was royalty and living in the lap of luxury.
What I didn’t know is that I am anything but average; a treasure.
It’s not until I look around this world and realize that this world is not mine, nothing in this world is mine.
It all belongs to you.
There is not one thing in this universe that doesn’t have your name on it.
Why am I so worried about gaining everything?
Because of sin, this whole time sin was eating at me, and the rest of the world.
I thought the more I have the grater life would be.
The fact is I’m still lonely without you O Lord Jesus I’m lonely without you.
I know now that I am royalty, I am a child of the most high God, and you are calling me home.
O Lord I have an itch to return home, but need help getting there.
You have already given that to me, all I need to do is trust in you.
I wish I could see you face to face and tell you I’m sorry.
I wish I could feel you holding me in your arms, but that day will come.
This world is a training ground to grow your kingdom and I have a job to do.
O Lord help me fight my battles, and Lord help me put faith in you, and use me as you will.
