LIFE IS AWESOME IN A TOPSY-TURVEY WAY

I awaken this morning to the sound of a bird's wishful cry
When I opened my window I was able to see the reason why
All her young birds had decided to go and leave her nest
It was time for them to make their own way by meeting the test
Life is awesome in a topsy-turvy sort of upside down way

I greeted by my neighbor with a handshake and a smile
He smiled back and said I haven't seen you around in awhile
Oh we all are Ok I guess the wife and kids are all doing fine
Just trying to keep our heads above water in this troubled time
Life is awesome in a topsy-turvy sort of upside down way

I reached for the TV remote just to see what had taken place
The news was on with all its doom, gloom with no one saving face
Oops that's not for me for I haven't even had my breakfast yet
I surely don't want to start this day with my insides being so upset
Life is awesome in a topsy-turvy sort of upside down way

I went to my garage to turn on the family car and start my daily run
And that was when all the technological mechanical fun has begun
You see the engine would not turn over but it didn't matter at all
For two of the vehicles, tires had surrendered and taken a fall
Life is awesome in a topsy-turvy sort of upside down way

I could just go on and on and on but it wouldn't matter none
For all my friends seem so uptight and no longer are any fun
If only we could go back to the past and those good old days
To those times before progress happen to changed our ways
Life is awesome in a topsy-turvy sort of upside down way

So I just decided it be best if I just gracefully slipped back in bed
Out with the lights, and noises by pulling the covers over my head
To my surprise, I suddenly found out life was not some evil scheme
It turned out I had just suddenly woke up from another restless dream
Life is awesome in a topsy-turvy sort of upside down way

"Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." (Colossians 3:12-14)

How are you doing these days, in this "topsy-turvy" world? Yes, life can be tough at times. Especially, if you have no firm foundation, on which to base your faith.

For the believer, those of us who have put our faith and trust in the living God, our living is all about faith. We initially come to God by faith. (Ephesians 2:8-9) And we live our daily lives by faith. (Hebrews 11:1,6)

This introductory scripture has the solution. We Christians should never live alone unto ourselves. We should live, as did our founding church fathers. In a spirit of love. Love for the Father. Love for the brethren. And love for the lost souls. (Acts 2:41-47)

Yes, our "topsy-turvy" lives can be reversed, by a simple prayer. Our God is willing and waiting to hear from us.

My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me." And my heart responds, "Lord, I am coming." (Psalm 27:8)

Mr. CharlesRobey, It was wonderful to know God is at work in your art of poetry. Thank you so much for sharing this real parody of life yet it can be so serious. Turn off the news and read the good news. Sam
