OUR ETERNAL CITY

by Charles Robey
(Trussville AL)

I am told of a mansion up there in the blue,
The Savior has gone to prepare.
I know that some day He will call us away,
To meet Him up there in the air.
I am told that the streets are paved of pure gold,
The walls of Jasper are made.
I know up there we will never grow old,
The joy of our hearts ne'r will fade.
In that land there will be no need for light,
His brightness will out shine the sun.
To live in His presence will be our delight,
When time there will just have begun.
When friends and loved ones are met in that place,
And join the praise to the king.
To gather round Him and look on His face
What joy to our hearts it will bring.

And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.(Rev 21:2)

Every year, my wife's family has a "Family Reunion" around the 4th of July. What a celebration. Families come from many states, just to fellowship and partake of those good old fashion homemade vitals.

However, I am looking for that eternal reunion, in "Glory Land," some day. Yes beloved, there is a literal eternal city, for the Children of God, just as there is an eternal Hell, for the unbelievers. For you see, I have many friends, as well as relatives, waiting for that great reunion in the sky.

How bout you? Where do you plan on spending eternity?
