We Are Not Ignorant of His Devices

II Corinthians 2:11

Introduction: The Bible does not make sense if you do not factor the enemy into the mix. From Genesis to Revelation he is there. The following are some of the "devices" he uses to gain an advantage over us.

1. COMMUNICATION - He changes the truth into a lie.

See John 8:44 and Romans 1:25.

2. INSINUATION - He discloses secrets so they will cause a stink.

See Proverbs 11:13; 20:19; 26:20 and 26:22. Let no corrupt communication proceed from your mouth.

3. HESITATION - He calls delay a denial.

Compare Genesis 16:2 with Daniel 10:12-13.

4. IMITATION - He makes darkness appear as light.

II Corinthians 11:13-15.

5. ISOLATION - He makes us think we are in the battle alone.

I Kings 18 and 19 compared with Malachi 3:16.

6. DECEPTION - He makes the door to hell appear to be the door to heaven.

Proverbs 7.

7. TERMINATION - He makes the way of death seem to be the way to life.

Proverbs 16:25.
