A House of Prayer

Isaiah 56:7

In this scripture, God reveals to us the primary purpose of why His temple existed then, and why His churches exist now. We are to be a house of prayer.

The church is to be a place where everyone from all walks of life, all cultures, all backgrounds and all nations can come to pray and to be prayed for. This is not only for large churches or churches in certain cities or famous churches. It is for all churches everywhere.

The Church is also to be a place where we as a body of believers pray for all peoples. We are to do this corporately and individually. Far be it for any of us to sin against God by not praying for others. We must be standing in the gap, interceding for the lost and dying throughout the world.

Where is our compassion? Where is the travailing and weeping for the lost? Did Christ die for nothing? Did he rise again on the third day overcoming Death, Hell and the Grave just to prove He could do it?

We as a body of believers need to remember our purpose on this people planet. We are to be soul winners and we are to pray. Our churches are to be houses of prayer for all nations, all peoples, everywhere. We are never to give up; never cease praying for others.

Ask yourself, is my church a house of prayer? If so, are we praying with unction not stopping until we see that breakthrough miracle that God has in store? It is only in prayer that we will see souls saved, lives changed, our friends, family members and loved ones delivered and set free in Jesus’ Name.

It is imperative that we have deep empathy for the lost. This empathy should cause us to fall on our knees in prayer. This empathy, this love should compel us to go into the highways and the byways praying that God would help us seek out the sinner and bring him to that saving knowledge of Jesus. Everyday we see how much more wicked, how much more base the world is becoming.

It is time for us to rise up together in prayer and say ENOUGH! We will no longer allow drugs or alcohol to control the lives of so many. We will no longer allow children to be abused or the elderly to be ignored. No longer will we allow greed or lust to rule. No longer will we stand idly by while the world goes to Hell in an increasingly alarming rate. NO LONGER!

We shall instead stand firm in the power of God Almighty in the strong name of Jesus. We will stand wearing the full armor of God praying down strongholds and praying not only for the salvation of those in our community, but in the surrounding area, our state, our country and the nations of this world.

“My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations…” Let us not compromise. Let us stand on the Word of God praying for revival and expecting a great harvest to come in. Let us take hold of that vision, write it on the tablets of our hearts and run with it!

Let us go and if we cannot go let us pray for others to go into all the world preaching the Gospel until He comes to take us home.
