An Open Heart

by Ronald Jenkins
(Winter Haven, Fl. USA)

Open your heart he has revealed,
The truth your choice has been appealed.
Let him in he’ll lead you right,
With all his love the absolute light.
A living world of spirited, frayed aggression,
You walk the path with unknowing depression.
Open your heart for the great good news,
He designed us, his will, for you to choose.
His gift is binding a rectified truce,
For he loves us so highly, to give us pure truth.
Open your heart for his son he bestow,
Eternal life is what you will know.
Bury the dead, lift up your ravaged bones,
He’s here to take you, you’re not alone.
Open your heart to have faith in God’s gift,
The world will lead you on a lost sea and adrift.
