BE STILL
(Psalm 46:l0 - Be still and know that I am God)
BE STILL MY LITTLE CHILDREN
STOP YOUR RUSHING TO AND FRO
BE STILL FROM ALL YOUR BUSYNESS
AND LET ITS BURDEN GO
YOU HAVE BEEN DISTRACTED WITH MUCH SERVING
AND TROUBLED ABOUT MANY THINGS
AND YOU HAVE NOT CHOSEN THE GOOD PART
JUST SITTING AT MY FEET BRINGS
I WATCH YOU AS YOU HURRY
ABOUT YOUR LIVES EACH DAY
RUNNING TO AND FRO
AS YOU RUSH YOUR LIVES AWAY
HOW I WISH THAT YOU DESIRED
TO JUST SPEND SOME TIME WITH ME
TO SEEK TO KNOW MY FACE
AND IN MY PRESENCE LONG TO BE
I HAVE TRIED SO HARD TO TELL YOU
BUT YOU'VE TURNED TO ME DEAF EAR
COULD IT BE THE TRUTH OF THIS MY CHILDREN
YOU DO NOT WANT TO HEAR?
I HAVE SO MUCH I WANT TO TELL YOU
SO MANY TREASURES I WANT TO SHARE
BUT YOU HAVE CHOSEN FOOLISHLY
TO TRADE THEM FOR YOUR CARES
TIME IS GROWING VERY SHORT NOW
ON WINGS IT FLIES AWAY
UNTIL THERE'S NO MORE TIME FOR THE BUSYNESS
OF ANOTHER DAY
BE STILL MY LITTLE CHILDREN
THERE'S BUT ONE THING YOU NEED
CEASE FROM ALL YOUR BUSYNESS
AND SPEND SOME TIME WITH ME
Luke l0:38 - Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister named Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me." And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, one thing is needed and Mary has chosen that good part which will not be taken from her."
