Blame It On The Rain

Genesis 6:1-3 King James Version (KJV)
6 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

Genesis 6:14-22 King James Version (KJV)
14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.
20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.
21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.
22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

“Blame It On The Rain”
Genesis 6:1-3; 14-22

By the help of the Holy Spirit, I would like to try and preach with the subject “Blame It On The Rain”.
Noah was the son of La-mech. When Lamech was 182 years old, he became the father of a son. He named him Noah Relief, and said, “This child will bring us relief from the work and painful labor of our hands since the Lord has cursed the ground.”  After Lamech became the father of Noah, he lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters.  Lamech lived a total of 777 years; then he died. (Genesis 5:28-32)
We are now at the point of our story when God looked down on the very planet He created;the earth when He created everything in 6 days and woe to behold evil is on the earth. It was then and only then after seeing all of this evil He said,”My spirit shall not always strive with man” (Genesis 6:3)but when God saw of all of this going on, He made the decision to destroy the earth with everyone on it.
Watch this! God who walked out on nothing and created the heavens and earth, the moon and stars then turned around made man out of dirt breathing the breath of life and made him a living soul and that’s when He saw Noah.
The Word tells us that “Noah walked with God...” (Genesis 6:9) In God’s eyes, He found grace ( “God’s favor toward the unworthy” or

“God’s benevolence on the undeserving.” In His grace, God is willing to forgive us and bless us abundantly, in spite of the fact that we don’t deserve to be treated so well or dealt with so generously) in the eyes of the Lord.
God gave Noah a mandate straight from the Him and directly to Noah to carry it out to the letter. Let me just say this, God has put a mandate on all of us to carry out no matter how big or how small do what Noah did and carry on, carry it on.
Yes, God gave Noah a mandate. A mandate that will be the game changer for all of life and all of civilization. Noah, who God found upright and righteous in His eyes, but why?
Here are at least four (4) reasons I found in studying this sermon. Four (4) reasons I believe God choose Noah for this big task at hand.

1)NOAH’S OBEDIENCE: Noah was entrust and instructed by God to build an Ark.

The significations of the Ark is a way or type symbol of salvation to the lost soul. A way of safety for all who are lost and now want a better life than what they had in the beginning. The Ark is not a sense of utopia but a reality for all.(Verses 14-16).
2)GOD TRUSTED NOAH AND NOAH TRUSTED GOD: God saw something in Noah.God saw Noah as “a just man and perfect in his generation” (Verse 9).It was through Noah’s obedience, God sought to trust him. Noah also trusted God in order for Noah can do the task given.
3)God saw wickedness on the Earth: When God looked down upon the Earth,He saw evil. He saw “giants in the Earth sexually involved with human women, their children became giants of whom so many legends are told. Every imagination you can think of it was evil all around” (Genesis 6:17-18) It was because of all this going on, God made the decision to destroy the Earth and all that was on it. Don’t let wickedness destroy you!
4)God heart was broken: 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. The last verse should give you a clue on what God is feeling.

4.God’s heart was broken. After seeing His creation His children doing evil things God was sorry He made man and it broke His heart. To break God’s heart is to denying Him in the pardon of your sins;but mend God’s broken is doing it’s will and His way.(Genesis 6:2-3) Don’t go breaking God’s heart like the people of Noah’s time.
After the Ark was build God made it rain for forty days and forty nights flooding the Earth only having Noah , his wife, children and the animals surviving the flood.Afterwards, He made a promise by placing a rainbow in the sky that He will not flood the Earth like that again.
If you are lost out there in this world, I advise you to get into the ark--The Ark of Safety! Jesus is that Ark to protect you and shelter you from whatever you are going through.
