God Is....

Psalm 46 King James Version (KJV)
46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.
9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
“God Is.....”
Psalms 46

Have you ever been ask to describe a certain person to you even if you’re trying to remember their name or if you seen that person? Or someone in general from their personality to their attributes or what they are really about.
Alright, let’s flip this same thing replacing it from the natural to the spiritual, how would you describe God? Can God be describable in so many words?
By the help of the Holy Spirit, I would like for really describe Him for He does,”GOD IS...”.
Psalm 46 was composed by the sons of Korah. Perhaps this psalm encourages us to hope and trust in God and His power and providence, and gracious presence with His church in the worst of times, and directs us to give Him glory of what He has done for us and what He will do.
Here’s a few points I would like to bring to your attention on what it is saying to us:

I.God is...our safe place to hide
A) Even in times of trouble, God can hide you.Another psalmist name David picked up his mighty pen and told us that,”The Lord is my shepherd;I shall not want.”Psalm 23:1. Then the psalmist turned around and wrote out of the depths of his soul “The Lord is my light and salvation: Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life;Of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1.
B)When the floods of life is ragging all around you, just know that God is there. “The floods have lifted up, O Lord. The floods have lifted up their voice:The floods lift up their waves. The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters than the mighty waves of the sea” Psalms 93:3-4. Let God lift that wave of burdens for you in your life.
2.
C)God brings beauty to the earth. Just look around you and can see it.There is beauty all around us as we behold God’s handy work. Psalms 90:17:”And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us and establish the work of our hands for us.”
III.The psalmist instructs us to be still and know.
A)No matter how things go in our various lives remember, God is...there. God is many things to every situation we are in.
1)God is...of salvation. The psalmist tells us that,”Our God is the God of salvation;and to God the Lord belong escapes from death”Psalm 68:20. In other words, God is a lifesaver.
2)God is...of truth. God is all about truth and there is no lies in Him. The Word of God tells us,”for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice.” Deut.32:4.
3)God is...of peace. When all the world is seeking peace, God is...of peace even when there is war on our streets, war in our homes, war in our place of worship there is peace in God because God is...of peace.Paul schooled us on God and peace by letting us know,”and the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.” Romans 16:20.
4)God is...of the living.Let’s get this straight,God is the God of the living not the dead. God is NOT dead but very much alive.Three of the Gospel writers, Matthew, Mark and Luke, echoed these words,”God is not the God of the dead but of the living” Matthew 22:32,Mark 12:27,Luke 20:38.
B)God’s name is to exalted among unbelievers. You notice how Donald Trump is exalting his name or claim of fame. He has his name on everything concerning the name Trump. Even to those who voted for him or not he wants his name to go down in history because he is Donald J. Trump. God wants us to proclaim his name to those who do not know Him, the unbelievers. We are to,”exalt the Lord our God and worship at His footstool.
3.
”Psalms 99:5.Those who do not believe in God needs to know God more than ever before.
B)God’s name to be exalted in all the Earth. All the world needs to know who God is.Just like God done to the children of Israel and even now, He told them,”and you shall know that I am the Lord your God” Exodus 16:12. As we speak, the message of God’s Word is being preached all over the world by television, radio and even the Internet so there is no excuse not getting God’s message to them.
IV.Conclusion. God is...everything. God is...my rock in a weary land. God is...my shelter in a time of a storm.God is...my bread when I am hungry.God is...a friend when I don’t have a friend. God is...light in a world of darkness. God is...my company keeper. God is...healing to my body and soul. God is...my traveling companion. God is....Amen.
