God's Work In The Winter

by Dennis Michelson
(Painesville, Ohio)

Job 37

Credit to Evangelist Eddie Davis for the outline.

1. PROBLEMS WITH THE WINTER

a. Problems of Going - maybe you need to slow down anyway.

b. Problems of Sowing (37:7) - if your hand is sealed up then you can pray or fight and that is about it.

c. Problems of Blowing (37:9) The wind comes from God but it blows cold due to a different direction.

d. Problems of Growing - Be careful, neither the seeds or the weeds can grow.

e. Problems of Knowing (37:10) - Be careful and not make a rash decision in the Winter that God made clear to you in better times. A lot of pastors leave good churches in the Winter and regret it later.

2. PURPOSE OF THE WINTER (37:13)

a. Correcting purpose (13)

b. Cleansing purpose (13)if there is no winter then there can be no harvest.

c. Caring purpose (13) God has invested to much in his vineyard to let the insects take over and destroy it.

3. PASSING OF WINTER (Song of Solomon 2:10-13)

My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone . . .
