ID' RATHER HAVE FREEDOM

by Charles Robey
(Trussville AL)

I'd rather have freedom than give up that I love so dear
I'd rather have freedom than taste the sinful evil fear
I'd rather have freedom than a modern failing way
I'd rather have freedom than from God attempt to sway
I'd rather have freedom than be instructed how to pray
I'd rather have freedom than the Bible be taken away
I'd rather have freedom than not allowed to take fight
I'd rather have freedom than not teach children right
I'd rather have freedom than church called the state
I'd rather have freedom than to ever enter that debate
I'd rather have freedom than not to worship as I please
I'd rather have freedom than not seek truth on my knees
I'd rather have freedom than stand for the unjust laws
I'd rather have freedom than not support gospels cause
I'd rather have freedom than suppression put to the test
I'd rather have freedom than have America not be blessed
I'd rather have freedom than in sordid mottos lust
I'd rather have freedom than not allow "In God We Trust"

The Scriptures tell us over and over to put our trust in the Lord and not man.

"Trust in Jehovah with all thy heart, And lean not upon thine own understanding"(Proverbs 3:5)

And yet, we are also instructed to pray for our country.

SO, DON'T FORGET TO PRAY

Pray that God will save our country, according to His divine will. This prayer may signify removing certain significant governmental influences, if they don't acknowledge the sovereignty of God's power. It may even mean forcing us, as a nation, to come to our spiritual knees.

Or, it could simply mean calling His children home to be with Him. Our duty, as Christians, is to praise God's infinite power and prayerfully petition for a chance of survival, as a nation.

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land". ( 2 Chronicles 7:14)
