IN GOD'S BIG LOOKING GLASS

by Charles Robey
(Trussville AL, USA)

For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I shall know fully just as I also have been fully known. (I Corinthians 13:12)

"Alice" is playing with her kittens—a white kitten (whom she calls "Snowdrop") and a black kitten (whom she calls "Kitty"), the offspring of Dinah, Alice's cat in the first book—when she ponders what the world is like on the other side of a mirror's reflection. Climbing up on the fireplace mantel, she pokes at the wall-hung mirror behind the fireplace and discovers, to her surprise, that she is able to step through it to an alternative world, "The Looking Glass Land".
What if we could step through "The Looking Glass", as did Alice, and get a view of God's eternal Will for our life. Would our day change? Would we be more receptive to His Will for our life. Would we be more obedient? Well, since we can't step through the "Looking Glass", we must accept God's plan, by faith and continue our day-to-day meditation with our "Living God".

As my life began
My thought did span
Over all the land
In God's Big Looking Glass

From the song I pine
Hearts music to chime
Heaven songs divine
In God's Big Looking Glass

Yesterday is old news
Tomorrow is abused
Today I must choose
In God's Big Looking Glass

From all my sin
My life did mend
With God within
In God's Big Looking Glass

Getting ready to fly
Beyond Heaven's sky
In the sweet by-and-by
In God's Big Looking Glass

Amen!
