IT'S SIMPLY GOOD -VS- EVIL

by Charles Robey

"

"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks, who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice to the innocent." (Isaiah 5: 20-23)

I have just about stopped any observance of America's news broadcast media, be it television or radio. Be it fiction or non-fiction. Why listen to an indignity which is making mega bucks broadcast what's actually not apparently worth two cents, as far as our godly principles are concerned? Simply put, it's not politics, but GOOD (Galatians 5:22-23) -v- Evil (Galatians 5:19-21).

I do, however, surf some aspects of the internet, and listen to my neighbor across the back yard fence, now and then.(Galatians 6:3-5) Nonetheless my Bible has become my sole source of light and comfort in this ever-changing dark world. (Psalm 119:105)

Oh well, you may label me an old time cultural dinosaur, if you may. And, you may essentially label today's social perspective as progressive thinking, that being the support for or advocacy of society reform, based on a philosophy of the need of advancement of science, technology, economic development, and social organization, as being vital to the improvement of our human condition. Wow, what a mouth full of interpolation, for this humble scholar. But it just may be secular truth.

Nonetheless, without the mere mention of God or His divine help, our nation will continue to go down this slippery slope of progressive evil thinking. For one thing all mankind can count on for certain is that God will deal with them in His divine righteousness. Believers by (1 John 1:9) and unbelievers by (II Cor 5:21)

I have another perspective for our society's evil turn to progressive culture. I merely label this concept for what it is. Good versus evil. That's right. It's not politics as usual. It's not the red states versus the blue ones. It's not the conservatives versus the liberals, or any such labeling. It's simply good versus evil. This mindset didn't just start today or even yesterday. It started eons ago, in the Garden of Eden. There was the birth place of our God's creation, our first parents.

Our first parents, Adam and Eve were neither Republican or Democrat, although they took on a façade of independence in disobeying their Creator, the living God. And their geographical abode was considered neither red nor blue, but did in fact turn out to be inherently disastrous for mankind's intrinsic sin nature. (Romans 6:23) This started the evolution of "good versus evil." It was there where the characterization of evil began. And this clarity of evil has been progressing ever since, right up into today's thinking. (Genesis 3:1-7)

However, with God's divine assistance, I feel a new day is about to dawn for America; a day of expectation, a day of hope and a day of religious anticipation. America is shouting out loud and clear, and God will surely answered the call. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Now it is up to us. We must do our part in returning to our religious roots and our Constitutional freedoms. Abraham Lincoln's quote "of the people, by the people and for the people" is just as true today as when it was penned.

And regardless of what some may think, or what some may say, America is still truly a Christian nation, one founded on godly principles. We are truly "One Nation Under God.” Yes, we serve an awesome God, a living God with real-life attributes. Among His many attributes is His control of the affairs of the world and His control over kings (governments). (Daniel 2:19-23) Not only does God control the affairs of mankind, He also gives a clear glimpse of the future through Bible prophecy.

We should not be surprised, however, when we see what's happening in our world today. (Daniel 12:10) We should not be alarmed with the current frame of mind as the populace seems to be turning away from God's principles. (IITimothy 3:1-9, 13) (II Timothy 4:3-4)

We should not be alarmed when the news media gives top billing to all the evil in the world today, such as the civil disturbances, unjustified murders, news propaganda, political corruption, unjust laws etc. And then there are all the natural and manmade disasters with respect to nature going wild. It's nothing short of evil's attempt to discredit our Christian way of life. (Jude 1:18-19) (Revelation 2:13)

Or could these occurrences just simply be warning signals from an almighty God? We serve a loving God. But we also serve a just God. (Genesis 6:3)

We should also not be troubled when the religious leaders contradict Scripture concerning the climax of the end time events. (II Peter 3:3-4) It too is a part of Satan's overall plan of action. Our war is not one of flesh and blood, but one of spiritual warfare. (Ephesians 6:11-12)

You see, these side-show attractions are all a part of the Devil's overall plan of distraction and disruption, for he knows his time is short on this earth. (Daniel 12:10) He is not all-knowing as is our heavenly Father God (Matthew 11:21) but he does know his time on earth is drawing short. (II Cor. 11:3)

Although Christianity will ultimately win the battle of good versus evil, this war is far from over. Evil will continue to do its dirty work on all fronts. (II Cor. 4:4) America must pray, and pray hard. We must pray that God continues to give us the victory. We must pray specifically for the protection of our elected officials. And we must pray for the fulfillment of (II Chronicles 7:14), by way of a national revival.

God's all-knowing attribute, of seeing and knowing the future, is critical for our democracy. Let us fall in line, and not turn our backs on Him. Let's not blow it, America, let us dedicate ourselves, as a nation to make this new revival of godly principles, and constitutional freedom happen. Amen!

Author's Postscript

"The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. (Romans 1:18-24)

Has the Judge of all nations brought His judgment on America? Does the divine Ruler of the Universe still bring affliction on nations? The record of the Hebrew Scriptures is very clear that nations of the past were judged and punished by God in their time of existence. There is no afterlife judgment for nations as there is for individuals. Israel of old and America of today are merely temporary, worldly social structures for specific times in history that serve as a stage for God and His people. When such social structures bring shame to the name of God, He punishes them and then abolishes them if their people en masse do not repent. Rome is no more. Spartan Greece is no more, and the Ming Dynasty has ceased to exist. It is people - not nation states - that God seeks to save, and nations are judged and punished by God when by the overflowing of their sins they interfere with the will of God to bring salvation to the earth - at the same time, bringing discredit to His name. Often, tragedy is allowed to serve as a warning for the people of a nation to repent and change their wicked ways. (Taken from biblesabbath.org)

Now, I realize this blog has thrown you in the briar patch of extensive Scripture revelation. However, Scripture is necessary for our spiritual growth. (II Timothy 3:16-17). For it is by Scripture, that our living God used divinely inspired men to talk with us. (II Peter 1:20-21)

You may also have a problem understanding Bible scripture. You are not alone. Even Daniel did not understand all of the prophesies in the book of Daniel. (Daniel 12:8) But he was instructed not to worry, as they would be revealed in due time. (Daniel 12:9, 13)

So we are not to worry, but are to keep the faith. (Hebrews 11:1, 6) We are not to get discouraged, as well. God has plans for all of us who trust in Him. (Jeremiah 29:11)

America, keep your heads up and don't get discouraged with all Satan's evil attempts of political distraction. We Christians won the battle on November 8, 2016. And the war is almost over. We will be going home soon. (I Cor. 15:51-55) (I Thess. 4:13-18)
