THE PARADOX OF GOOD AND EVIL-Part Two

Times have not changed much. My following blog was posted on the AL.com website on April 8, 2014.

HAVE WE GONE NUTS

I had just settled down in my favorite "Frazer Dad" recliner, the one held together by duct tape. My next move was to tune in the only newscast I felt would tell the whole truth. You know, the one that lays claim to being "fair and balanced?" After a few minutes of utmost frustration, I had to tune out the conversation. What has happened to our conservative thinking? Yes, becoming mad was putting it mildly. Nonetheless, by divine intervention, it was all in the scope of doctrinal "righteous indignation." Don't worry, I didn't throw the remote or put a shoe to the TV screen.

Well, in all fairness, I can't really blame the TV station, for it was the particular guests who actually distressed my austere intellect. You know the dialogue, talking up all the woes of our country, but backing off from taking a stand or forming any type solution to the problems, by simply stating, "It's just the times in which we are living. And we might as well get use to it, etc, etc." I don't mind telling you, I needed to run to the nearest garbage can, to dispose of my liquid anger.

What's wrong with our professed free society? Have we literally "gone nuts" by all stretches of the imagination? It's now alright for our leaders to turn our beloved constitution into a blood-born society. "I don't know or I don't remember" is now given to circumvent speaking the truth. "I'm your leader, I can do whatever I want and I have a phone and a pen to prove it," is the current governing norm. "There is no material poverty in America," has become our mind-set. "We have to pass the bills to see what's in them," echoes through the halls of Congress, while the jurisdictional political "pork money" is being added to the proposed bills. And the opinionated liberal psychology just continues on.

We can no longer refer to certain idioms, as, Black Friday, the Redskins, the White Sox, pig in a poke, Little Red Riding Hood, white wall tires, red blooded Americans, full body armor, red letter day, squeaking wheels get the grease, Sunday-go-to-meeting clothes, gone to the dogs, the American dream, Robin Hood taking from the rich, and the list goes on and on.

Something very different has happened to America. You see, we have conceded our responsibility to a bigger and more intrusive form of government. We must take our heads out of the proverbial societal sand, if we expect to survive. Someone has said that there is about 40 percent of the US population to whom our current government administration could give chicken feathers and convince them it was chicken salad and they'd gladly accept the explanation.

Also, it appears that we now have a sold-out Congress, who would follow our leaders off the Empire State Building blindfolded.

"He therefore is the truest friend to the liberty of his country who tries most to promote its virtue, and who, so far as his power and influence extend, will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man." (Samuel Adams)

And in addition, we now apparently have a leadership that sways away from any type confrontation and a Supreme Court that has seemly followed suit. Our government, founded to serve the people, has long since abandoned our very principles. Oh, for another President Kennedy!

"My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." (John F. Kennedy)

Both main-line political parties now seem to be a dismal letdown at reviving our economy. Not to mention our American Spirit. What do you suppose would happen if the food stamps and the entitlement checks (an oxymoron in a loose sense of the word) suddenly stopped coming? Just bring on the riot police, I suppose.

You see, our political leaders, while living above the law, continue to expect us citizenry to abide by every ridiculous unworkable law and continue to struggle to pay whatever taxes they choose to levy.

"Government is not the solution to our problem, government is the problem." (Ronald Reagan).

I shudder to think of what would have happened to me, in my young life, if I were to look into a TV camera and lie with a straight face. But times are certainly different now, aren't they?

So, my fellow Americans, what's the solution? Could it be a new political party? A party that has no preconceived obligations to anyone or any entity, special interest or otherwise, that goes against our God given liberty. A party that is impervious to the ridicule of the drive-by news media. A party ready and willing to enlist the loyalty of all us true "red blooded" Americans, regardless of race, creed or national origin.

Yes, we must get back on the path of sanity and back to the beliefs of our God-fearing principles.

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." (Preamble of the U.S .Constitution)

Most definitely, our current progressive government minions despise our beloved Constitution. Oh, they may give lip service to it in speeches and campaigns, as is convenient. Even then, however, they are really distorting or twisting the text to serve their socialist and atheistic agendas.

Have we gone nuts? You be the judge.
