To be more like you

by Jerry freeman
(Dymchurch )

Make me Jesus more like you
A reflection of you in all I do
Mould me ,knead me, on a potter’s wheel
Grow me, show me, how you feel
Disciple me, scold me, when I do wrong
Love me, elate me, make me strong
Give me a heart of compassion for others
To always love my sisters and brothers
Give me conviction, to spread your word
Clarity of voice, make sure I’m heard
Help me be brave to withstand the pain
I might have to face, to follow your reign
Make my life how it is meant
To be an image of you, Heaven sent
