WE ARE STILL THE PEOPLE

"Why do the heathen rage, and the peoples imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His anointed, saying, let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision. Then shall He speak unto them in His wrath and vex them in His sore displeasure." (Psalm 2:1-5)

What has happened to our great Republic of America, The land of the free and home of the brave? As for me, I don’t rightly know, but I have my own personal suspicions. Thus, I have stopped reading or listening to the mainstream media, and also the social media, giving out possible stretched truths or commentaries lacking in natural or spontaneous quality. So then, I’m asking for your opinion? Please read on.

If you have been following my blogs lately, you are well aware of my concern for our great Republic, America. Our great tried and true slogan, 'The land of the free and home of the brave' seems to be in a heap of trouble, progressively speaking. My main concern being America’s Judeo-Christian roots, together with her patriotic history.

So then, please allow me the following inquisitive uncertain questions, simply as a matter of discussion, based on certain internet reflections. Are we seeing the waging of a quiet war on our Christian faith? Has there been undercover spying on Christians inside churches, under the pretext of claiming them to likely be "violent extremists? Has there been such action as the threatened to arrest an overseas pastor for praying in front of the public facility? Have public facility security officials kicked out Christians for wearing pro-life attire? Has there been a demand towards the Supreme Court to overturn your right to go to church on Sunday? Have there been limitations placed on kids' religious liberty in schools? And does every rule coming out of certain agencies seem to have some kind of nefarious attack on Christians buried therein?

It’s a never-ending fight for good versus evil, and for our providential faith-based Constitutional freedom, as well as the Biblical dictates. So, where are all these alleged attacks on the faith-based directives actually coming from? Simply put, we are in battle, faced by an unseen spiritual war of many spiritual battles. Our enemies are the demonic hosts of Satan, always assembled for mortal combat. And sadly enough, these evil dictates have invaded various political functions.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:12)

So then, have you read your newspaper, tuned in the television news, listened to talk radio, surfed the Internet, talked to your next-door neighbor, or even listened in the modern church service lately?

Remember that age old famous quote of America’s humorous Will Rogers, “All I Know Is What I Read in the papers.” Will Rogers had two of the most popular newspaper columns throughout the 1920s and 30s. His daily and weekly columns were syndicated in newspaper across the country. He would travel with his typewriter and submitted his columns by telegraph. And he put two million words in print during his lifetime.

If only Will Rogers were alive today, I’m sure he’d have plenty to write about. What then has happened to America’s founding dictates, such as?

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. --That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” (The Declaration of Independence)

“That whenever any form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing it powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and trans causes; and accordingly, all experience hath shewn, that mankind is more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which that are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.” (The Declaration of Independence)

“And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor” (The Declaration of Independence)

“We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” (The US Constitution, preamble)

According to Dr. Larry P. Arnn, President of Hillsdale College, “The framers of the American Constitution combined the best political ideas of the past with innovations in what The Federalist called an improved science of politics: federalism, separation of power, and checks and balances. Doing so, they created a form of government which had in the words of James Madison, “no model on the face of the earth.”

“Because men are not angels, government is necessary. Because no man stands to another as God to man or as man to beast, government must be based on consent. The moral foundation of the Constitution is in the Declaration of Independence and its principle of equal rights. Under the Constitution, government was to be limited to protect those rights.”

And what about such patriotism referrals as “America, the beautiful”, “America, the land of the free, the home of the brave,” “God bless America” and “In God we trust” just to name a few tried and true American idioms. Have they somehow been put to rest?

Most importantly, then above all else, are the dictates of Holy Scripture. The providential will of our Creator, God. The most important learning text of all. (2 Timothy 3:16)

So, I give you today’s America. Fast forward to today’s liberal progressive political generation. Are you a faith-based loving American who is concerned about the level of evil generated programming, brainwashing and indoctrination we are currently seeing in our nation today? I surely hope and pray so. ‘

Therefore, I now give you, those of a faith-based mindset, a simple conclusive solution to it all. A plan of action, a word of hope, and a promise, directly from our living Creator God. Will you now quickly go to work, before it’s too late? Amen?

(2 Chronicles 7:14) —if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

AUTHOR’S POSTSCRIPT- The following postscript is taken in part from Dr. Charles Ryrie’s comments, respecting the following Scripture. (Romans 13:1-7) (Titus 3:1) (1 Peter 2:13-15)

I now ask you, as a dedicated faith-based citizen, do you have the proper biblical attitude towards the state? Please remember, there is no authority except from God. This does not mean, however, that certain forms of government are ordained by God. God established and upheld the principle of government even though some governments do not fulfill His desires.

Although we Christians are a “special” people elected by God, redeemed from the world, and no longer dependent upon it, we are not above the necessity of getting along with the civil authorities who govern us.

We Christians are to be law-abiding citizens. If the law of our government violates the revealed will of God, then, of course, we must obey God, though we may have to suffer the penalties of government ‘laws.

I have three all-important personal priorities within my life. To love my Creator God, to love my family, and to love all else.

Yes, we need to perpetuate the “inestimable blessings” of our religious and civil liberties, in that pronounced order. Come now, might you not join me?

” Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore.” Amen. (Jude 24-25)
