What's in your belly

by Dr Stephanie Mullings
(Jamaica)

Dear Saints:

One of the most debilitating effects a human can experience is a hurt in their belly. It weakens you…

The scripture gave references of Jesus on the cross, when they wanted to be sure he was dead they pierced his side.

Ehud in Judges 3:21

Killed King Eglon, by pushing a dagger into his belly and the fat closed around the dagger and the king died.

The belly or stomach is where our food is stored for our strength and energy. Therefore the belly area is important.

Yet the Easton’s Bible Dictionary states that:
It is the seat of the carnal affections ( Titus 1:12 ; Phil 3:19 ; Romans 16:18 ).

Only the Holy Spirit living in us can bring about a change.

What therefore is in your belly?

Is it the fruit of the spirit love or carnal affection?

PLACE YOUR HANDS ON YOUR BELLY AND SAY

"Only the Holy Spirit living in ME can change what is in my belly"

Belly here is figuratively used to mean heart

The Greek word (koy-lee- ah) koilia

The whole belly, the entire cavity the upper i.e. stomach and the lower belly are distinguished the lower belly, the lower region, the receptacle of the excrement the gullet to be given up to the pleasures of the palate, the place where the foetus is conceived and nourished until birth of the uterus of animals
the innermost part of a man,the soul, heart as the seat of thought, feeling, choice ----

· John 7:38 KJV
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

This is where our expression of joy and gladness originates.

Therefore as children of God from our bellies should flow rivers of water, of joy, of worship, of praise, thanksgiving, adoration to the most holy.

God is our supreme help, Our righteousness, Our refugee

He is our strong tower, He is all powerful.

Therefore the worship that comes from our bellies should be unto GOD

Our praises should be with the understanding of continuity

Continually flowing from our bellies

RIVERS of LIVING WATER

The only time a river stops flowing is in the time of severe drought

Therefore if our praise and our worship ceases, it is suggestive of a spiritual drought

I pray today that whatever the situation that is causing a period of drought that you will see water, the water of life

Psalms 65:9 KJVA
Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.

· Ezekiel 47:1 NIV
The River From the Temple The man brought me back to the entrance of the temple, and I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was coming down from under the south side of the temple, south of the altar

Therefore your period of drought can be ended today because there is water here.

Job experienced a period of drought he lost his family, and wealth, yet the scripture records

· Job 40:16 KJV
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.

We have strength in our bellies

Our meditation is from our bellies

Our praise from our bellies

We have worship in our bellies…….

For those who sing the sound is most beautiful when sounded from our bellies.

From my experience when my belly hurts, there is little if anything I can do.

I have difficulty walking, talking even sleeping

I am in a state of discomfort

The enemy wants to cripple us therefore

He is trying to damn the wells of our belly with fear, insecurity, depression, evil thoughts, according to Job 5:35

Our bellies have conceived mischief, and bring forth vanity, and deceit.

Today we are encouraged to examine what is in our bellies

And bring forth praises from our bellies

Worship from our bellies

Praise from our bellies

Goodness comes from our bellies

· That our God will be glorified
· He will be exalted
· Because he is worthy,
· He is holy
· He is our God

· Psalms 17:14 KJV

From men which are thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure:

Do you have treasures in your bellies?

Are there nations within you?

There is great power in our bellies

There is a multitude within us

God has prepared us for this time

So do not be discouraged with the circumstances

Instead let us take time out and worship God from our hearts

He is deserving of our praise

· Job 40:16 NIV

What strength he has in his loins, what power in the muscles of his belly!

Psalms 31:9 KJV
Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble : mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.

We feel the pain of the nation in our bellies

We feel the hurt of our brothers and sisters in our bellies

Therefore as the spirit of God calls us to supplicate for each other

Let the anointing flow through our worship AND

Souls will be delivered through our praises

· Proverbs 20:27 KJV
The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.

Today we are asked to examine what is in our belly

Is it worship?

Is it thanksgiving?

Do you have a Praise coming from your belly?

Are our bellies filled with Love, Peace and Kindness?

If NOT, we are summoned to cultivate the presence of God, meditate on him, experience his power, that our bellies will be filled and flowing with the truth of God in worship and thanksgiving.

Give Worship, let it flow like a river

Give Worship, let it flow like a river

Give Worship, let it flow like a river

· Isaiah 46:3 KJV
Hearken unto me O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb:

We are God’s children, we are his heritage, and we are a chosen generation called to give of what is in our belly

· Job 32:19 KJV
Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles.

Are you ready to break forth in praise?

Are you ready to break forth in worship?

God is longing for our worship

Today we honor him, just because he is GOD

We worship him because he is holy,

I Chronicle 16:29

Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness

He loves us with an everlasting love

He has created us for his worship

We are called to worship God

Revelations 22:9 records:

Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: WORSHIP GOD.

As we go this week, I pray your bellies will be continually filled with wine, ready to burst like new bottles as we worship God.

I ASK YOU ALL TO STAND WITH ME.

RECOGNIZING THAT ONLY THROUGH GOD’S POWER CAN WE TRULY WORSHIP,

CAN WE BRING FORTH WHAT IS IN OUR BELLIES,

CAN THE PROMISES OF GOD BE TRULY MANIFESTED.

WORSHIP GOD FROM YOUR BELLIES...............
